35th FIFF announces last deadline for submitting films

The 35th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) has announced February 28, 2017 as the last submission deadline.

Filmmakers wishing to have their films included in the screening lineup of the 35th Fajr International Film Festival are invited to fill the related form and submit their work on the FIFF website by February 28.

The submission can be done via website, email or by mail before March 20, 2017, while registration for participation cannot be guaranteed after the mentioned date.

The festival will be held in main sections of International Competition (Cinema Salvation) section, Eastern Vista (Panorama of Films from Asian and Islamic countries), Festival of Festivals (Cup of Divination) and Retrospectives and Tributes.

Side programs of the event include screening of classic films, documentaries and special presentations, as well as holding a talent campus, university section and workshops.

Established in 1982, Fajr International Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th FIFF which is Iran’s most important film presentation and competition festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
